This is another Triple Decker Clock made by Elisha Manross, Bristol Conn. Circa 1840-1845. Most of the case pieces not shown did come with the clock, however I do have to make the doors. I am actually the third owner of this clock. It stayed in original family for over 150 years. A fellow collector breifly owned the clock before I purchased it. This project is still waiting to be done.
Here is a Beveled Wooden Works Ogee clock made by Goodwin + Frisbe, Unionville Conn. Circa 1839-1840. This is an unusual Ogee based on the label and style of door which is more like what is on a triple decker. This project is still waiting to be done.
Charles Stratten Clock. 30 Hr wood works with internal alarm
Riley Whiting 30 hr wood works
E. Terry Jr. Short Drop Quater Column Wood Wooks Clock
Marsh Gilbert + Co 8 day Wooden works clock. YES!!!!... I have finally found the movement I needed for this clock!
Jerome + Co 8 day Double Door Ogee
William B Loomis 3/4 size wood works case. This restoration is now complete. To see details on this restoration, click on the picture.
Here is a fun treasure if there ever was one. This is a Brewster and Ingrahams Steeple Clock with a 30 hr Kirk's Cast Iron Backplate movement. Biggest issue with this clock will be re-veneering the entire front of the clock. With a clock like this though, I figure it will be well worth the effort.
Well, I was majorly blessed this weekend when a friend of mine gave me this clock case. This is a miniature Ogee case made by E+A Ingraham. The label states made in Ansonia Conn, but distributed out of New York. This dates the clock to 1855-1856. I figure this is rather uncommon. Someone put shelves in the case, but I've already removed them and the label is in great shape underneath.
Can anyone send me a picture of what movement should be in this case?
Another treasure dug out of the closet. This is a Jerome + Co. 8 day gallery clock. Another good deal from long ago.
Here is a treasure I dug out of the closet. I decided it's time to get it out onto the site. It's a Wm Gilbert 30 hr Steeple. Nothing fancy, but the price was right when I got it.
Here is another Black Forest Cuckoo only older. (or is it a pile of kindling wood) Yea, It's rough, but I think it's all there.
Here is a Black Forest Cuckoo clock that I've had for some time. I got the case along time ago. At the same time I received a large pile of movements and pieces. I only just realized that in the pile of movements was the original movement to this cuckoo. mounting holes line up perfectly.
Here is a very interesting clock I just got. This is a wood works "Reverse Ogee" case made by Jonathan Frost. The scroll is intriguing. The top never had a splat, chimneys, or returns. The finish on the scroll is all grungy and matches the lower portions. What do you think? Is it original???
I know it's not the greatest picture, but it is a really great clock. I got this in exchange for repairing two clocks, both being newer westminster chime clocks. I think I got the nicest clock of the three. It a Gustav Becker circa 1886 double wgt regulator!!!
Another treasure has now been added to the pile of stuff waiting restoration. Here is an Eli Terry Jr thirty hour clock that definitely needs help. Inside is a Terry Short drop movement that I already know is a marraige. I also have a terry movement with 36 teeth that will probably end up going in this clock and then I can save the short drop movement for something better. The 36 tooth movement has actually been through a fire. It is a little blackened, but sems otherwise fine. I think I can make it work.
Here is what I think is an interesting clock. It is a Julius Peck Clock made in Litchfield Conn. Searching through NAWCC bulletin index does not reveal a single photo of any clocks by this maker.
This is a Mark Leavenworth + Co. Clock circa 1832. Thirty Hour Wood Works needing a new splat and chimneys and tablet.
Here is a clock that I have wanted for a while. It is a C+N Jerome Early Roundside case style. I plan on steaming off the label and moving it tot he proper location as well as making an appropriate tablet fort the clock.
This clock was receivced as payment for more repairs done. I am not complaining! This is a Self Winding Box Regulator. It's all complete, just need to fix it mechanically
Now this appears to be just a common clock until you realize that this is a miniature and measures only 19 inches tall. Now I have to find a movement for it.
