Here is my Marsh Gilbert + Co 8 Day Wooden Works clock case as purchased. After close inspection, I have determined that the door originally had another cross piece making it a "three panel door". This will be added during the restoration. All I have to do now is find a movement and dial for this.
I've now at long last found the correct 8 day wooden works movement and a great dial for this fantastic clock. I just have to be patient and wait for my chance to start the restoration.
These two clock photos are from the "Clock Price Guide and Index" website. I intend to pattern my restoration after these clocks. I believe these columns are grain painted instead of stencilled. Let me know if you agree. Have you ever seen columns like this first hand that have this shape (that is typically stencilled) but have grain painting. Please let me know. Thanks, Paul
